The Brief:
Client: Brookfield Residential
Industry: Sales & Information Centres
Location: Calgary, Alberta
Timeline: 2021
In 2017 we designed, fabricated and installed a showhome for Livingston known as the Hub Trailer, which was fun, playful and spoke to the youthful demographic of the community. In 2021 Livingston opened their new HOA building for the community and wanted to relocate elements of the Hub Trailer to the vestibule area of the new building.
The design in the HOA had a different feel than the HUB trailer so we wanted to take some of the elements from the HUB trailer and update them for use in the HOA. We ended up re-using the Livingston wordmark but added some new text, and some acrylic panels and combined them with some new elements to create the final design.
The final design has a main wall area with floor to ceiling vinyl, brochure holders, the Livingston logo and wordmark and an amenities map. The black Livingston wordmark was recycled from the old Hub trailer but we added their tagline in dimensional letters to go along with it. We added semi-transparent acrylic panels to make the design less static, more dimensional and provide space for take away items like brochures. These panels have opaque white stripes that give them an architectural feel, but also mimic Livingstons branding. The centrepiece of our vestibule design is the amenities map, a high-quality image of the Livingston community, printed on a 60" x 60" piece of polished acrylic.
Together the new and recycled elements come together in a cohesive, colourful way that speaks to the vision of the new Livingston HOA.
